The filter is the part you can reach. This isn't where most of the mould lives.
Rinsing the filters only cleans the part you can easily reach. The blower fan, evaporator coil, drain pan and internal casing sit deeper inside the system, so the casing needs to be dismantled for proper access and cleaning.
The blower fan
The long spinning drum behind the filters. Damp, dark and rarely reached. This is usually where the speckled build-up lives, and where the smell comes from.
The evaporator coil
The cold surface the air passes over. Coated in fine dust it insulates the coil, so the unit works harder and cools less.
The drain pan & line
Where condensation collects and leaves. Blocked, it backs up, which is what causes the dripping and the damp smell through the room.
The full casing
The housing everything sits inside. Cleaning the components but leaving the casing just puts clean parts back into a dirty box.

Dismantle & deep clean
The casing is dismantled for proper access. Filters, blower fan, evaporator coil, drip tray, drain hose and full casing are thoroughly cleaned using our low-tox solution, mixed fresh at the start of each job. Removable components are taken outside and pressure cleaned.
Reassemble & show you
Everything goes back together and runs clean. You see the before and after photos before we leave.
Extra care inside your home
Before opening the unit, we protect the surrounding floors, walls and furniture with drop sheets and our purpose-made aircon cleaning bags. An air purifier runs during the clean to help capture airborne particles disturbed during the process. We also thoroughly clean our equipment between jobs to reduce the risk of cross-contamination from one home to another.
The low tox method

Most air conditioning cleans leave a sharp chemical odour behind for days. That's the opposite of the point.

James runs Natural Breeze and continues to look after the bookings and customer communication. On-site work is carried out by specially trained Natural Breeze technicians who follow the same cleaning process and standards across every job.
Every technician is trained in our low-tox cleaning method, property protection, contamination control and before-and-after photo process.
We're also deliberate about who joins the team. We want people whose values and customer care line up with the standard Natural Breeze has built its reputation on.

Common questions
What products do you actually use?
On air conditioners it is cleaning vinegar, hot water and clove oil, used to clean mould, grime and internal build-up without harsh chemicals. Clove oil is included as standard in our aircon cleaning solution, but can be removed on request if you would prefer us not to use it.
What do you use for carpet cleaning?
For carpet cleaning, we use cleaning vinegar and essential oils alongside hot steam and powerful truck-mounted suction. Hydrogen peroxide may also be used for stain treatment where required.
How often should I get my unit cleaned?
9–12 months for most homes. For high-use systems, humid environments or health-conscious households: every 6 months.
Why is there a separate mould removal charge?
Heavy mould and internal build-up require additional time, PPE, setup, cleaning and pack-down compared with our standard deep clean. Our technicians carrying out this process are trained in the additional mould-removal procedure. Mould removal is $69 per affected unit and is confirmed before the additional work is carried out.
Do you travel to my suburb?
Travel is included across the local Gold Coast area. Further out, a travel fee applies from Tallai: Zone 1, up to 45 min from Tallai, $99. Zone 2, 45–90 min from Tallai, $149. Zone 3, 90 min or more from Tallai, $199. Send your suburb through and we'll confirm your zone before you book.
Is it suitable for homes with kids and pets?
Our method is designed for households wanting a lower-tox approach, including homes with young kids and pets. No harsh chemical smell, and we're happy to discuss the ingredients before your clean.
What's the difference between a ducted maintenance clean and a ducted deep clean?
The Ducted Maintenance Clean is maintenance cleaning of accessible filters and vents to remove built-up dust and debris, along with a visual inspection of accessible components. The Ducted Deep Clean (Indoor Fan Unit in Roof) is a separate service, only available during winter. It is arranged by enquiry rather than instant online booking, so we can review your system and contact you to organise it.
How long does a clean take?
It depends on the unit and how long it's been since the last service. A standard split system deep clean is a straightforward job; heavily built-up units need the extra mould removal time. We'll confirm timing when you book.
